Director of Land Acquisition

Erickson Living is currently one of the largest senior housing developers and managers in the United States and ideally positioned for continued growth. We are expanding and developing in all of our 20 communities which will reinforce our position as a national leader in senior housing and health care services. This growth requires a strong development, design and construction team to manage the various projects. We currently have a job opening for Director of Land Acquisition to work in our corporate headquarters located in Catonsville, Maryland. This Director of Land Acquisition will work with other land acquisition team members as well as the Business Development, Entitlements, Market Intelligence, and Development teams to locate and drive land acquisition opportunities for the development of large scale Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs).      Director of Land Acquisition Job Responsibilities:     Active role in land acquisition planning process, including market and sub-market selection and developing tactical plan for each target market. Aggressively search for, screen, and generate prospective land acquisition deals through networking with industry and local contacts, brokers, land owners, title companies, developers, engineers, builders, and other deal sources. Maintain knowledge and awareness of local market activities, trends, opportunities, transactions, and upcoming acquisition opportunities in target markets. Identify and evaluate most appropriate land comparables to determine property values and purchase offer ranges. Prepare and negotiate letters of intent and respond to requests for qualifications in competitive bid situations. Identify and secure best prices and terms on property that conforms to enterprise business plan and financial objectives. Oversee drafting of legal documentation for purchase and sale agreements and negotiation of terms (subject to approval of General Counsel and EVP). Meet with local officials to understand entitlement and permitting processes for specific sites Assist development leaders with preliminary design and development of prospective projects. Coordinate market research in support of land acquisition objectives and target markets.   Bachelor's degree in a relevant major, to include Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Architecture, Land Planning, and Real Estate. MBA preferred. A minimum of 7+ years' experience in land acquisition and entitlements or related development experience is required. National or regional scope of experience is preferred. 18115494

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
